Traditional karate, okinawan karate, sport karate, hojo undo question?
It appears to me that the hojo undo supplementary training exercises used by the okinawans who practiced martial arts and made famous by karateka are regularly practiced by many traditional groups in karate and almost negelected alogether by sport karate, western karate, and competitive martial arts karate schools? why is this? wouldnt these sportsmen have more use for strength building, motion-specific, arduous excercises? after all traditional karate-do is....well karate-do and seeks more for the benefit of the quality of life of the practitioner, why is it these guys are still using ''badass looking'' strength menuvers whereas the sportsmen who believe in body conditioning and development as a primary goal have seemingly discarded it? i hope that was clear enough, thank you in advance for all of your ansewers
